Mr Pool now posted a picture of the KNIGHTS TEMPLAR MILITUM SIGILLUM, at 03:17:43 UTC, original on twitter at 19:01 EST:

Knights Templar
A Seal of the Knights Templar, with their famous image of two knights on a single horse, a symbol of their early poverty. The text is in Greek and Latin characters, Sigillum Militum Xpisti: followed by a cross, which means "the Seal of the Soldiers of Christ".

A closer translation would be "The Seal of a Soldier of Christ".

The 1118 year reference in Law of War Manual gives:

11.18 ENEMY PROPERTY DURING OCCUPATION
e.g. 11.18.2.4 Seizure or Destruction of Submarine Cables Connecting an Occupied Territory With a Neutral Territory. Submarine cables connecting an occupied territory with a neutral territory shall not be seized or destroyed except in the case of absolute necessity. Such cables must likewise be restored and compensation fixed when peace is made.

This rule applies only to activities on land and does not deal with seizure or destruction of cables in the open sea.
