Last time I'm going to say this, if you haven't sold your stocks do it now. If you have a 401k and are looking long term, that's fine, it will recover. But we are heading much lower until then.

Also IRAs are safe as long term, but concerned for older Patriots who don't have as much time to recoup, like our parents.

Sorry, no idea about these things. But since i have a couple IRA's, what do you consider long term? Would it be better to cash in and pay the 20 % penalty?
