My first apartment in Chicago was in the part of the city known as "Boys Town." (officially Lake View East) The pride parade route went past where I lived. 🙄

Thanks. This was many years ago, when I was more left-leaning in my views. Even then though I found the idea of a parade narcissistic. And a friend of mine used to take her kids to the parade! 😟 It was a hip, happening neighborhood, but I'd definitely feel out of place there these days.
