He promised to never again Destroy the earth with A flood. Promised mankind with the Bow in the sky. (Rainbow) but will in the end burn up the earth with fire. The elements shall melt with fervent heat. There is nowhere for anyone to hide from him in the end. Revelations says they will cry out to the mountains to bury them to hide them from he who sets on his throne.
What if Revelations already occurred in the spiritual world, not in the natural world? The Word is not in every instance to be taken literally. As it indicates by instructing how Jesus spoke in parables. There are several forms of nonliteral meanings in the Word. Paul said the letter is dead. You're right about what God said about destroying us. Destroying the earth refers to each person. We are not destroyed because we are His immortal souls, therefore nothing external or natural can destroy us. We have eternal life no matter its chosen quality, heaven or hell, we choose what we love best throught life and ultimately after death.
