Was anyone watching WJZ CBS Baltimore during the infamous Oprah & Frank Perdue interview?
If you aren't already familiar...

In the early 1980's, Oprah hosted a news show for WJZ in Baltimore called People Are Talking. She once interviewed the poultry magnate Frank Perdue, and ended the interview with something like "Has anyone ever told you that you look like a chicken?" to which he allegedly responded "Has anyone ever told you that you look like a gorilla?"
Cut to commercial... Oprah runs out crying...

In a 1997 interview with Vibe, Oprah admits to her awkward question, but claimed that Frank's retort was a "complete fabrication."

The tapes in those days were always taped over, and no hardcopy supposedly exists. The legend is widespread, and I have met people who swear to have heard the gorilla, even before the days of the internet or the release of the biography... next thing ya know, she's in Chicago... big time, sellin yardbird...
