She Said She Wanted to Live. The System Killed Her Anyway.

by Kelsi Sheren

Mrs. B reportedly expressed her desire to withdraw her request for MAiD.

Canada killed another person who DIDN’T want to die.

Canada’s MAID program is sold as “humane, compassionate, and strictly safeguarded.” It’s anything but. What happened to one elderly woman, referred to in official documents as Mrs. B, shows a very different reality. She withdrew her request for assisted death, asked for care instead, was denied that care — and was euthanized within hours.

This isn’t an anomaly. It’s a systemic failure.

According to the Ontario Medical Assistance in Dying Death Review Committee (MDRC), Mrs. B was in her 80s and had complications after coronary bypass surgery. Despite physical decline, she was medically stable when assessed in hospital — not imminently dying.
