This pain clinic needs to get all their preop instructions straightened out. The paper they gave me says nothing to eat or drink 6 hours before the procedure and stop the blood thinner two days before. Then the day before the procedure the nurse calls and says nothing to eat or drink after midnight. And they almost didn't do my last procedure because I was instructed to stop the blood thinner two days before, and when I was in the OR for the procedure, they stopped the procedure because the doctor was deciding whether or not to proceed because I had only been off the blood thinner two days, and the nurse said normally you need to stop 7 days in advance. I clarified all this when I was scheduled for the procedure, and the nurse told me NPO 6 hours before and stop the blood thinner 2 days before. The nurse called yesterday and told me NPO after midnight again. Oh well, I'm having my coffee at least. My procedure isn't until 10:15 AM.
