The Action: A bipartisan group (led by Rep. Bill Keating and Rep. Don Bacon) has introduced the "NATO Unity Protection Act" (also referenced as the "No Invading Allies Act").
The Fear: They are explicitly trying to prohibit federal funds from being used to "blockade, occupy, annex or otherwise assert control" over Greenland or any NATO territory.

The Timeline: This bill dropped immediately after Trump's comments that he would "acquire" Greenland "one way or the other" and that the "United States military" is always an option.
The Meaning: You don't introduce a bill like this unless your internal intelligence says the military is already fueling the jets. They are trying to pre-emptively cut the funding for an operation that is likely already in the "Go" phase.
