The worrying thing 4 us is both in their early 80's, my mum says things that triggers my Dad which are usually about me, she then has a go at me on the lines of he never hurts or says anything 2 you. I'm 60, I have Chronic health issues, I told our youngest brother I haven't the energy or patience anymore 2 try negotiate with either of them because it's like 2 badly behaving teenagers that have become destructive 2wards each other. I lost my husband 2 leukaemia 10 years ago, I have a disabled son, grandchildren arriving, an emerging family of my own, I don't want them growing up listening 2 & watching traumatic slanging matches, & having 2 step between them both. But I think my Dad has been traumatised as a child & his family gets the brunt of it. According 2 him women deserve a good slap!! I decided I'd had enough I want the trauma from our grandparents, parents 2 stop running through our families, & this movie that's playing out in slow mo is not helping.
