Character Still Matters

My father used to tell me that a man is only as good as his word. He used to say, “If a man’s word can’t be trusted, then the man himself cannot be trusted.” Those words ring true because they echo the very heart of God.

His Word defines who He is. If we say we follow Him, then our words should carry weight as well. Keep your promises. Let your yes be yes, and let your no be no, because character despite what society tries to tell us still matters.

Integrity is not outdated. It is the reflection of who God is in us. Live in such a way that your word is true. Your word can be trusted. Your word has integrity. And your word, above all else, brings honor to the name of Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Savior.

Talk to God about this today. Say, “Lord, make me a person of truth.”
