A RARE TOOTH AND A BIBLICAL TRUTH
A rare duck-billed dinosaur tooth was recently discovered in a central Alabama creek by Dr. John Friel, director of the Alabama Museum of Natural History. Evolutionary scientists estimate the fossil to be about 84 million years old and claim the region was covered by water for millions of years, which they say explains why fossils are found there. One article even suggests that dinosaurs like this hadrosaur were likely washed out to sea. Yet this discovery fits far better with the biblical account of Noah’s Flood, a sudden and global catastrophe that violently covered the earth with water only a few thousand years ago.
The animal this tooth came from was a hadrosaur, one of the most recognizable groups of plant-eating dinosaurs. Hadrosaurs could grow up to 50 feet long and weigh several tons.

They had long tails, powerful hind legs, and flat duck-like bills designed for stripping vegetation. Many had complex rows of grinding teeth, and some had elaborate head crests. These were land-dwelling animals, not marine creatures, yet their fossils are often found mixed with sea life. That is exactly what we would expect during a global Flood, when land animals were overwhelmed, transported, and rapidly buried in ocean sediments by violent waters.
The article highlights how rare dinosaur fossils are in Alabama, especially ones found in good condition. This supports the Flood model even more strongly. Fossilization requires rapid burial, not slow processes over millions of years. The evolutionary claim that Alabama sat underwater for vast ages does not explain sudden, well-preserved, mixed fossil layers. The Flood does. This single tooth is more than a scientific curiosity
It stands as a quiet witness to God’s judgment on a sinful world and to His mercy shown through the Ark. Just as Noah was saved, salvation is still offered today through Jesus Christ, our true ark of safety.
