"Hope Bridge" is a movie that deals with the struggles of a young man whose father committed suicide. This is a very sad and important topic for many Americans who need to acknowledge this tragedy. Those left behind of a suicide are the real victims. Why? Because many of them continue through their lifetime to question "could I have said something?" "why didn't I see that coming?" and so many more recriminations that really do not belong to them. FOA - the person who commits suicide has reached a point of desperation that nobody would be able to understand - except one who has been through that and survived. Our normal "fight or flight" syndrome makes most people survive any harsh situation life throws at them. However, the victim of suicide has lost that option. They see NO POSSIBLE ESCAPE and decide to end the pain themselves. It is the most selfish act possible for a human being to make. Why? Because when they are gone the remnants of their act remains in the lives of the survivors,
