The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that President Donald Trump is expected to sign is the fiscal 2026 defense policy bill, a comprehensive piece of legislation authorizing a record $901 billion in annual military spending—$8 billion more than the Trump administration requested.
The bill sets U.S. defense policy for the coming year, determining military priorities such as procurement of ships, aircraft, and missile systems, troop pay raises, and responses to geopolitical threats.
