Keep Giving Anyway

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself… Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3–5

True humility is not weakness. It is strength under the control of love. My father returned from the war to find his own dreams gone, but then he began to save for mine. He wanted me to have what he had lost, and he never stopped giving, even when I didn’t appreciate it or understand it.

That’s the heart of Christ, who poured Himself out so that you and I might live. When others fail to appreciate your love, keep giving anyway. Love that expects nothing in return, in its action, reflects the very heart of God.
