We left the organized church years ago because most modern-day pastors just teach themes, taking bible verses out of their historical context to create a feel good message, and sometimes an inaccurate interpretation. We do our own study led by two pastors we have come to know that teach the scriptures verse by verse in its historical context with scriptural support from old to new testament. The bible really comes alive when it is taught in this way! Also when the New Covenant vs the Old Covenant is understood, the bible makes so much sense. While associations with other believers is important, this can be accomplished in a small group bible study. Churches need, IMO, to refocus their mission to teach the scriptures accurately because this is how a deep abiding faith and appreciation of all Jesus Christ has done is appreciated with profound gratitude. 😇

i was lucky in the minister i had growing up.. biblical in all ways. actions and words matching their being.. the wife also a beautiful loving person. then the church burned to the ground during upgrades to the church. it was old. stone. tiffany glass of beautiful God pictures/ the town was small so everyone who each other. mostly some came for socializing. as you never saw them again. just once a week. some spent hours at the church preparing for church dinners and gatherings. with prayer. i did not find this against the church. we were in Gods house and all were good people. those who were not didnt show up. you could feel the love in that church that was. after the fire it was never the same. the minister was so devastated he had to leave. his heart broken. we needed him but i guess he thinks he failed us> no i dont think so. we never saw him again. he was in his late 60s so i guess retired.the new church is exactly that. it makes no sense. got marrried, babies baptised.said byebye
