"Religion always begins with human ability. Christianity begins with human inability. Religion says do. Christ says done. That is why the gospel is not one option among many. It is the shattering of every other option. Jesus does not invite the strong. He calls the weary. Matthew 11:28 says come to Me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. He does not call those who believe they can earn anything. He calls those who know they have nothing."
