You're absolutely right. Ostrich has some of the best meat out there. I've had it before and it's not cheap but it taste as good if not better than a filet mignon. It looks just like regular steak except a little on the purple side and the texture is the same as a fine steak..
Besides their use as a healthy food source I also feel bad for those that had them as pets as they are beautiful birds.
