🇺🇸 On this Patriot Day, as we honor those we lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and the 2,977 innocent victims killed in a brutal act of terror whose voices were forever silenced, we are also deeply grieved by last night’s violence. We remember not only the victims of past tragedies but also those today whose voices were silenced in the name of violence. We stand firm in belief: violence only destroys; nonviolence builds. 🕯️

We remember John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Gandhi, Charlie Kirk and all those who preached peace, love, and justice, yet were met with violence. Their messages, like Christ’s, showed us a path of love, forgiveness, and truth.

In the words of Jesus:

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

Today, we recommit to peace, dialogue, and honoring free speech. Let us hear one another. Let us respect one another. Let us love one another just as so many have taught and even in death still
