What possible purpose is there for any "non prosecution agreement (NPA)" to be considered is beyond me. When there has been an indictment to criminal acts - prosecuting that criminal act is the job of the courts. Just allowing the defendant to go free from prosecution if they agree to plead guilty to lesser offense(s) is dereliction of the duty of the court. These are the types of games being played that cause the complete lack of trust in our judicial system that exist today. The victims have suffered for decades because prosecutors refused to pursue a just trial with conviction and additional victims were accumulated due to this travesty of justice.
