i worked in OB and we would plunk those placentas into a huge freezer and once a month a company would pick them up. it was rare ( i think only saw it once or twice) that someone would ask to bring it home to plant in the garden.. i think they were chinese.. i was told it was for beauty products and could see that as a lot of them do have"that" in them..

I guess the stem cells are harvested from them, so they go for $30k-$50k apiece.

The medical industry is making a killing off them.
