Skilled Maintenance Therapy Under Medicare | APTA
Medicare does indeed cover services to maintain or manage a beneficiary's current condition when no functional improvement is possible if the services are medically necessary and meet the skilled care requirements.

I led the 'starving artist' (musician) lifestyle most my adult life and early on (age 20) figured out I'd likely never have "insurance" from all the more or less part time minimum wage jobs one generally has to depend on just to leave room to pursue that path. One thing I realized that made sense to me was studying *health* (and disease *prevention*) while spending that little extra money month to month on *healthy food* (organic as possible), various nutraceuticals and vitamins, with the mind to never need that insurance I likely would never have anyway.
I fully embraced the idea (and literally so for the most part) of 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away' (as long as you eat it's seeds too!) as well as the old chestnut .. 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure' .. 'etc'.
And so at age 74 now, on no meds whatsoever and quite physically able and active still I can verify that philosophy and practice is *medical insurance* GOLD.
