Naval News interviewed Mr. Özgür Güleryüz, General Manager of STM, during the IDEF 2025 defense exhibition held in Istanbul between July 22 and 27, 2025.
In the interview, Mr. Güleryüz shares details on three major international projects STM is currently involved in:
Logistic Support Ships for the Portuguese Navy – This contract, signed in December 2024, marks STM’s first ship export to a NATO and EU member state. The project includes the construction of two replenishment vessels.
LMS Batch 2 Corvettes for the Royal Malaysian Navy – Construction began in December 2024, and the keels of the ships were laid in April 2025. The first corvette is expected to be delivered by the end of 2027.
Multi-Role Support Ship (MRSS) Design – First revealed at the LIMA 2025 exhibition in Malaysia, STM’s MRSS concept is designed to support amphibious operations, provide logistical support, and serve as a hospital and evacuation platform during crises.
