I also am highly suspect of "Tenured Professors". What did all of them have to do to never be fired while indoctrinating our youth? Basically being set for life with big salaries, tons of young fellas and gals every year to interact with, and big fat retirement packages too.
I was a ‘tenured professor’ at a public university. To earn tenure it takes 5-6 years with at least one promotion from assistant prof to associate prof, then full prof is the highest rank. Benchmarks required for teaching (excellent student reviews), service (show you helped the community for free), and research (2+ publications in ‘good’ journals and conference talks, and grants, their amounts, ability to get more).
They form a committee of full profs from different departments to read your thick dossier. They don’t know you or your specialty at all. One of them is assigned to present your info to the group. They have at least 10 per committee. These people decide your fate. If they say yes, a chancellor signs off and you get tenure. If the vote splits they can deny you. Then you have one year to try again. It’s up or out. They either give you a higher rank and a raise, or fire you.
That was in your case.

True, but my case is common across universities. What makes that difference is discipline and how valuable it is to the institution. Hard sciences have to get grants. Soft sciences, literature and the arts don’t. There are many government grant opportunities in hard sciences and very few in the others. We read about Epstein seeking out top professors in computer sciences, they live on large grants.

I hear you Anuenue, but if I remember correctly, Gene Decode in one report said there is also satanic infiltration in the Tenure process, so let's see what is eventually revealed. Just because you were in a state college and not involved in satanism, doesn't mean it wasn't going on right under everyone's noses.
We have to remember there are Secret Societies that infiltrated every institution, and unless one is a member of those Secret Societies, they likely won't see those activities, like Skull & Bones at Yale.
