I fly to Vegas once or twice a year, almost always out of Pittsburgh.

Based on the map below, Vegas is 2,194 miles from Pittsburgh.

The flight time is usually between 4 and 4 and-a-half hours.

That makes sense because I talked to a pilot who happened to be a passenger on my last flight there, and he confirmed that the planes fly between 500-600 miles per hour.

We're told that the earth spins at around one thousand miles per hour, from west to east.

If that were true, a flight to Vegas from Pittsburgh would only take about 2 hours, because Vegas would be getting closer while the plane is in the air, moving approximately two thousand miles in two hours.

Conclusion: the earth does NOT spin.

I think this is a very interesting subject. According to 2 Google searches, it is my conclusion that when flying in an Eastwardly direction the plan would have to exceed 810 mph. Therefore, if the plane could reach 850 mph, it would be moving 40 mph in relation to the rotational speed of the Earth. Using the formula provided and the average speed of an airplane, your destination would catch up with you from behind because the Earth rotates faster than the plane can fly. 🤔

The earth is absolutely flat - there is a great book on 17 different emergency landings that could only be possible if the earth was shaped like the map on the wall at the UN...
