I helped a friend installing insulation on his off grid home back around 2000. We were in a sheep wool producing area and he had a full pallet of densely compacted raw wool delivered. We would take a big garden claw tool and scrape the wool off into fluffy piles and stuff burlap sacks that were then stapled between ceiling joists much like is done w/ fiberglass batts.
I've worked a fair amount with fiberglass insulation and I can tell you there was something significantly different about the the way the space felt with wool. Couldn't really describe it but it was a totally different feel. Very pleasing .. and seemed 'calming' actually.

I have been around wool blankets and clothing, living in snow country before. But I do not recall anything, except staying warm! Next time I am near it all, I hope to feel the difference!!! TY!!!
