This also means that all those who got marriage licenses in incorporated cities and towns were not married under Common Law, but maritime law. If they wish to stay married, they will have to re-do their ceremonies.

Common Law marriages, if the parties wish to split, have had to still go through the divorce process through the District Court via the District Clerk's Office, or the County Court, via the County clerk's office. Am not sure just how this is all going to shake out; the licensing of marriage will probably undergo some changes, as will the divorce process.
