Florida does not have common law marriage

you have to have a ceremony and record the marriage license in 10 days for it to be legit

not all states are the same

you have to research the state law

Common Law marriages, if the parties wish to split, have had to still go through the divorce process through the District Court via the District Clerk's Office, or the County Court, via the County clerk's office. Am not sure just how this is all going to shake out; the licensing of marriage will probably undergo some changes, as will the divorce process.
