The only people who should have a Butcher Knife are Certified and Licensed Butchers.
We need a comprehensive Butcher Knife confiscation program, a 10 day waiting period on any new Butcher Knife purchases by a Certified Butcher and stricter background checks.

Just yesterday, DA Eric Gonzalez of that same borough of Brooklyn had a gun buyback event to reduce gun violence across NYC.
I agree with you, DA Gonzalez now needs to have a "Butcher Knife Buyback Event." And if that does not work, time to confiscate them from all kitchens.
NYC now has sanitation "compost police" who dig through garbage bags to enforce composting, so why not just "come on in" and check what's in those kitchen drawers...
It's a really great thing that not a single civilian had a firearm or this could have been a bloody mess waiting for the NYPD to show up instead of being over in just seconds.
