I'm sure you've heard this a gazillion times,
or maybe a bit less; anyway, we work our whole lives, have a portion of our paycheck sent to city, state and federal tax collection agencies, and pay all kinds of other taxes.
Then we retire and get measly peanuts upon which we are supposed to be Soooo happy, and some folks are not really able to survive.
Irony: every time I see SS as abbreviation for Social Security, my thought goes directly to Nazi SS, Germany, WW2.

You also fail to recognize that the current Deep State welfare & entitlement programs BY DESIGN absolutely discourage People from succeeding & even penalizes them for working harder & earning more to try become independent of that Failure-Based system. Deep State doesn't want People to become successful - so by DESIGN it creates a dependent class of welfare serfs trapped into dependency on the Deep State. How did you expect that would turn out?
The High Universal Income that Elon is talking about is the total opposite >> to EMPOWER PEOPLE. It will encourage People to succeed, and help them pursue their passion.
