US Navy veteran, live in caregiver for my 99 yo Mother, Nana and Great Nana
A few years ago, several of my friends and family members were so excited about giving their spouse their Christmas gift from 23 and me. I asked one of them why would you want to do that? She answered "so we can find out who we are". I responded "hmm". I said to myself - I don't need to give anyone a sample of my DNA to find out who I am - my parents passed down to me who they were. It seemed sufficient to me that I belonged to my parents so I already know who I am.
I had an ex who wanted for us to that about 8 or so years ago and i said ill take a hard pass on that one. I know who i am and where my family mostly has come from so im good with that information lol
