"Swatting" is basically attempted assassination,
but in such cases,
could also be classified as "terrorism".
If terrorism is perpetrated by a group,
then they would be a "terror cell".

I too have received dozens of these text messages. I report scam and delete all. Sadly, though, there are many elderly people who do not understand what to do. They often respond and lose a lot of money.
