IMO you never HAD to file taxes. We all chose to because we thought we had to.
They have been wiping out our accounts completely because we didn't file. They will take your money and they will take your assets
I was told by a tax accountant that the IRS doesn't go after non filers. Only those that file and make mistakes.
I sold a house to a guy who didn't file. He somehow got the IRS to go away and closed on the house.
I went through bankruptcy in 2008 during the collapse and stopped filling taxes for several years, they went back and got me for all the years I didn't file
