Maybe this year will be the last year I pay property taxes. Maybe this year. Maybe this year…..
Seniors go without food and heat and medical care because they don’t want to leave their home. They are harassed and harassed if they fall behind after paying off the home and diligently paying taxes for decades.
It’s abuse.

Here for the patriots. Trump is my president. #WWG1WGA NCSWIC Enjoying the movie

My 85 year old mother paid off her property over 30 years ago. She STILL pays nearly 7K in property taxes and it keeps going up. I can't wait until it's gone. Mine has gone up steady over the last 10 years

True! So that they can pay their property taxes, people forego seeing doctors, forego travel, forego expensive foods, never buy new clothing, and keep heat dangerously low.
Because if they do not pay their property taxes, the government will take their homes away.
Yes, they might love their homes, but they know that with no shelter, the other necessities will not matter!
Typically, if the tax isn't paid after 3 delinquent warnings:
Boom!
Their home goes on the 'county roll' or similar list, where their property is sold at auction.
Movies and books might have given you the impression these kinds of things only happened in the old days, but I can tell you:
I've seen it happen in our own days.
Horribly sad.
