Public schools are closed today for Chinese new year; may this be the last time.
My neighborhood is about to clear out!! It is a mini-China here growing larger every day. They have bought every home we lost, taken over every business, filled every school...I could go on.
Gotta go...time to look out the window and watch them be removed. Bye Bye!!

NYC Public Schools are closed today for Chinese (Lunar) New Year.
So many NYC neighborhoods are now just a bunch of satellite "Chinatowns."
"Chinese New Year was signed into law as an allowable school holiday in the State of New York by Governor Andrew Cuomo in December 2014, as absentee rates had run as high as 60% in some New York City schools on this day. In June 2015, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio declared that the Lunar New Year would be made a public school holiday; and in September 2023, New York State made Lunar New Year a mandatory public school holiday."
