I'm noticing a troubling lack of discernment out there. Of course, this has been amplified in recent years with the onslaught of disinformation such that no one has the time to research / fact-check and apply critical thinking to whatever issue is being presented.

Since I'm highly familiar with media (30 years of deep experience) here's some ways to sift the true from the false:

DISCERNMENT TIPS from MEDIA EXPERT

1. Give every presented issue in media a thorough, thoughtful 360-degree review.
Positive/negative/all angles should be considered. Look at what is being presented as 'evidence'. Often, it's a quote from a "source". Anything quote-centric is to be de-valued and considered suspect / untrustworthy. Socials (as a source of truth) require a lot of work and are generally weak indicators of whether to take action or not. 99.5% of what you see there is manufactured (fake) and/or manipulated to some degree.
