I am doing everything I can to move into my own space with my child.
But it comes down to money.
My income isn't the problem - it's the cost of housing and I am not allowed to leave the state (parental kidnapping law).
I've received legal counsel.
On the wait list for HUD (2-3 years out).
The local shelter is, well, toxic as hell (you only have to identify as a woman to get in - they prioritize physical and sexual abuse - and you don't have to be sober - just "respectful").
Police don't recognize abuse unless it's physical or sexual - I've had them out here before - it's a joke - the entire judicial system is the same way.
It's INSIDIOUS - psychological torture - gaslighting from the very people who should be helping.
Which is why DV needs to be seen in a NEW light as a result of our Awakening.
And I am being a vocal voice in this.
