The WHO helps provide data from all around the world on outbreaks and epidemics impacting people, animals, and agriculture. This function is important in terms of defense and cooperation and especially now with biosecurity issues. With that said, there are many problems that either need to be addressed or assumed by another group or groups. The same conflicts of interest that have been identified in other areas of our health system are probably the issue.
