As a nurse educated before "woke medicine," I was taught about the importance of natural immunity. The symptoms of runny nose, cough, fever, is the immune response necessary for the body to rid itself of toxins, offending substances etc. Yes, sometimes those symptoms can be annoying, and cause fatigue, and discomfort. The best way to enhance this process is:
Stay well hydrated ( preferably alkaline water, add lemon to water)
Rest
Consume healthy foods, teas, soups that are easy to digest
Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, highly sugared foods
Apply cool compresses to head and neck for comfort
Mild exercise like a gentle walk in the fresh air and sunshine while deep breathing
Good hygiene
Gargle with salt water for sore throat
Lemon juice, and honey to soothe a cough
😇

Except some cannot have those things because of other illnesses, allergies, etc.

For example, I cannot do the acidic, so lemon juice is out, pineapple juice is out and I can only tolerate only 1 cup of OJ every once in a huge while.

We need the healing across the board with all, IMHO.

interestingly lemons are not acidic to the body once they get into the stomach.. they are alkaline. i was the same way as lemon juice with take the coating off our teeth.. dont do it.. i have trouble wiht OJ because of the acid and dont drink it much. s o when i do i use 1/3 wiith water and it is okay with it..

i was a neighbors home. she makes alkaline water with lemon s. the end stem part and one slice in a quart of water.. it was so slight you almost couldnt taste it.. and refreshing too. if your tummy is that sensitive then your stomach is too acidic so maybe to start with that as a thought of course.

Yes, I have, I can finally tolerate apple cider vinegar, which before I couldn't even tolerate, but it helps with some things. Also many medicines create an acidic environment, so there is also this!
