I'm a widow, living in UK, I inherited my husband's 2003 Peugeot 207 estate 5 door, it fell to pieces. I couldn't afford to buy a newer car. But a family member of my son's wife gave me their second smaller car that was used to ferry their elderly parents around in. I cried for weeks from their generosity as the car was worth quite a bit of money & it was an automatic that would be a much easier car for me to drive. It's not how much the car was worth it's the action of someone realizing my need for help, as I've several chronic health conditions that make life difficult for me day to day. I don't want to brag as I realize what is given can be taken back by.

Hubs and I were just talking about this at lunch today.

We drive a 19 yr old car, have a truck from 1994, and my husbands 1964 project car... Our house will be paid off, this time next year, and we have no other debt.

You would not know it to look at us, but our assets are probably right at a million.

31 year, hard road with lots of sacrifice.
