I too am an RN ( now retired). I spent my entire 50 year career in the ICU, CCU, ER, and PACU setting. I had many opportunities to talk with people who were resuscitated after cardiac or respiratory arrest. Of those who had an NDE ( near death experience) there were nearly identical experiences of seeing a light, feeling loved, peaceful, and seeing life experiences reviewed. Only on rare occasions did patients relate a hellish experience, but when they did they always said they never wanted to experience that horror ever again. Nearly all reported being above their body and watching the resuscitation event, even remembering what was said. All that had a positive experience did not want to "come back." In fact most were angry the resuscitation was successful. 😇
