United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was assassinated this morning in front of his hotel in New York City.

The gunman waited for Thompson in the lobby of the Hilton Midtown and shot him in the chest, then fled.

He is described as a white male wearing a cream-colored jacket, black face mask, and black and white sneakers, and carrying a gray backpack.

UnitedHealth is the largest health insurance company in the 🇺🇸, generating over $189 billion in revenue in 2024.

Thompson implemented a controversial company wide DEI policy in 2023, favoring minorities and women for management roles, pushing white male employees out of opportunities.

Thompson was set to speak at an investor meeting later today in NYC.
