People trained in defensive tactics use this handshake. It aligns your knuckles. If some "jerk" tries to crush your hand it prevents them from doing so. Just extend your index finger when shaking another person's hand. Try it, it is amazing how well it works. My husband uses it. He was asked, which lodge he belonged to. He didn't know what the heck they meant. The person told him, he thought he was a Mason because of his handshake. 😂

I didn't say that is why Gaetz shook hands in this manner. Just pointing out a little known fact. It is a tactic used when shaking hands NOT fighting. You should try it. Because it works.
