@AlpacaAurelius on X:

In the 1950s Americans were eating ~3000 calories a day from ice cream, sugar, meat, fat, jello, bread and obesity was rare.

But after 1990 obesity 4xed

1990: 10%
2000: 20%
2010: 30%
2020: 40%

Americans didn't just become couch potatoes.

Something is poisoning our metabolism. Pray to God we figure out what this is

Maybe fast food chains. We had small business owners make food to order from the car. They used food from the grocery store not mass delivery from a franchise.

In the 60's our society morphed into a generation of "do whatever you want". The beginning of making very poor choices. "Eat Drink and Be Merry" was the message of the day. Luke 12:
"Jesus said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. He told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops. This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry. But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? Jesus said, "This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
