Was walking Chip before sunrise yesterday and a small mixed breed pitt came running at Chip like a bullet. I wanted to chase the dog off but Chip liked him and we continued our walk. That friendly guy ran off before we got home
How wonderful a story. We must awaken ourselves to sense instead of see what is before us.
Your Chip knew there was no danger. He sensed a friend where you at first sensed a foe.
He is so lucky to have you to trust him yet be ready to step in when needed.

After a fight with a pitt and trying to protect the wolf where I got fangs in the thigh my reaction will be if it’s on I drop the leash and help where I can
Maybe I mis understood. So the pitt was not friendly?
I let my dogs decide if they like another dog or not. I have seen so sweet loving pitts. They are taught to hate and fight. They are also very loyal to family and territory.
I do carry bear spray with me when I walk my dogs but we have fox here that roam, mostly nice but you never know. Hornet spray works too.
We lived on and Island, Atlantic Beach and the county released a wolf to help keep the cat population down. LOL, my cats and dogs ran with that wolf. I never touched him but he spent much time in our yard with cats and dogs. Never harmed them.
Maybe because we fed him our meat scraps. HAHAHA.. but hey!
I am sorry you were attacked by a pitt and you never know about any dog.
