The 'notifications' tab of my account is stuck showing *1* no matter what I do. I've cleared it multiple times. Logged off. Rebooted computer ... everything I can think of.

I have that same problem. Been running with 1 notification notice for months.
Go to Notifications, then click on Mentions,
I think you`ll find someone has "mentioned you in a post.
Thank you! You were right - someone did but it still didn't clear it once I viewed it. :/
