The average cost of a regular home in Ontario, Canada is 850k- 1.2 million. I’m talking shacks here. Bidding wars are disgusting. I rent my condo. When I moved in 7 yrs ago, it was 160k. It is now 750k. 2/5 of my working children will never, ever be able to purchase a home.
The $5100 tax bill this year is almost half of the $17,500 it originally cost to buy my 4 bedroom house in 1959.
