"πŸ”₯This is the most powerful thing I’ve seen in a long time.

This man waited 18 years to become an American citizen, and he is far more knowledgeable about our current state of affairs than many people I know that have lived here since birth.”

I still believe it is an insult and degrades our long-standing family status and contribution to the nation that a new citizen like this has the same voting power as me. Voting weight should be based on how long one’s family lines have been in the country.

New citizen = 1 point
3 generations of citizenship = 3 points

It is the fairest outcome to reward longevity of citizenship and one’s contribution to building the country, and it does not discriminate based on race, gender, religion, or any other protected class…if those pesky federal laws matter any more.

I believe after 18years of work to become a citizen, that this man has earned the right to vote.
President Roosevelt stated, "That you have to learn to speak our language, learn our laws, learn our history to become a citizen". He isn't an illegal that just came across the border!

You must not have read my post. He can vote, but I don’t think his vote should carry the same weight as people who’s families have been here for 150 years.
