another day at the 2024 shitshow
I had to watch a neighbor's wife move out today after 30 years of marriage cuz she wanted his inheritance from his parents to just blow on starting a new life for herself. Not one neighbor showed up to help her cuz we are so glad she is finally leaving. She has been so rude an to people around here for so many years.

some neighbors doing loud fireworks in afternoon
my dog is totally scared
sigh...
what I would give for some peace and quiet on a day off after a really stressful week
so many family members having a hard time right now
another family member is in pain from his back and feet
so many family are struggling right now.
I pray for them all.

Terrible that a wife of 30 years should want enough from the marriage to afford a place to move into.
I'm sure she wasn't rude because she was unhappy in the marriage.
(I know rudeness is no excuse, but none of us knows what goes on behind closed doors. She hardly left because she was deliriously happy in that marriage)
Let's hope the neighbours of her new place (iunder a bridge, or in a shop doorway, or a park bench) are just as lovely as her previous neighbours, and pinch her shoes while she sleeps.

I have just moved. If people hadn't helped me, I would never have managed. I feel sorry for that woman.

Understood, ty for your post. I feel sorry for her but also for her husband. It is sad.
How bad does it have to be to divorce when you are both in your 60's? I think it is post traumatic stress disorder because both of their mothers and a father died in the last 2 years during the covid garbage, and it is pent-up grief.
But that is just my opinion cuz they apparently just want to move on.
