The Vikings and the Templars knew of the New World and the Templars traded with the Indians! Coulmb or Columbus no one know`s who he really was got hold of a Templar map and he went to the King of Portugal asking for an expedition to the New World ! The King of Portugal said "No" he was fully aware of the New World as the Soldiers of Christ - the Templars had told him about it and had given him Gold!
