Disabled American Veteran trying to walk/hitchhike from the Jasper area to Huntsville for a Dr. Appointment he was told he could not miss. With no way to get there, he said he started walking. 💖

Thank God for that Sheriff's Dept. What our Vets go thru sickens me to my core!! My Dad was one of those at one time, he went thru HELL with the VA! I pray for the day no VET will EVER go thru such despair again!!

We are getting abused in the
VA Healthcare System.
Watching the men and women
who had proudly served our country,
took a turn for the ugliest form of
abuse and neglect one the
Covid Restrictions began,
followed by the vaccine rollout.

My question would be…..
What is being done to
help the vaccine injured veterans now?

My Dad is at peace now Urban. But back in 1997, I flew to Calif, I lived in the East, to find a place for him to go because the nursing home he was in put him on the street!! I mean, literally, when I arrived that is where he was, sitting in the street in a wheel chair/w a bottle of oxygen on his lap. He could no longer pay!!!! I went to the VA hospital to ask if they would take him they said NO! At the time, the Majority Leader of the House in Richmond Va was a good friend, I threatened to get him involved, they didn't want that so they let him stay for 1 day, until i found him a place. He was sooooo sick from Agent Orange, prostrate, & Lung cancers. That was in November, I flew home, and got the call at work early the next morning, he was gone!! So anything involving a Veteran is important to me!

All Veterans should never have to worry about having a roof over their head, food to eat, or getting the best medical care. It saddens me what your Dad endured. Veterans deserve to be treated with dignity and respect for their sacrifices.
